Three players named Pieres, on three different teams, ended up in the semi-finals of the Barry Cup. But only one managed to help his team advance to the finals. Nico Pieres (8) was a strong driving force for Audi as they beat Villa del Lago and Polito Pieres (8) by a score of 9 to 7. Audi trailed the entire match until they tied it in the 4th chukker and then went ahead with two minutes remaining in the 5th. Villa del Lago was shut out in the final two chukkers.

The third Pieres, Facundo, lost in a hard fought battle against his Ellerstina teammate Mariano Aguerre. Crab Orchard jumped out to any early 2 – 0 lead on breakaway goals by Aguerre. The teams were evenly matched in the first half. Crab Orchard got ahead by two in the fourth then Facundo came up with two back-to-back goals to tie the game again. Zacara was unable to stop Mariano in the 5th as he racked up four goals in that period to make it 11-7. Facundo Pieres found the goal posts twice in the last chukker to get them within one but they came up short by a goal. Aguerre ended up with 6 goals. Final score 12-11.

The finals of the Barry Cup will see Audi go against Crab Orchard for the title.
